Amazon Autoposter Premium Is Now Even More Powerful!

April 17th, 2009

I have just released a new version of the Amazon Autoposter premium edition with several new cool features:

- Include full Amazon descriptions in your product posts
- Scrape full reviews instead of just short excerpts

You can find a sample post showing the new features here. So, you should really take a look at the Amazon Autoposter plugin and (at least) test the free version.

My host has PHP 4.3.11. Is there anyway to get this to work with anything other than version 5?

  2. admin says:

Unfortunatelly not, but you could try asking your host if he could upgrade your php version.

  3. Tim says:

Unfortunately, I’m using Yahoo and they upgrade when they upgrade. Thanks anyway.

On your sample post the Toshiba laptop has no link to Amazon. The iPod post has a linked image and a “buy ” link. Can the posts be set for either way?

  5. admin says:

The Toshiba post was created with an older version. The link and clickable thumbnail are now in all created posts.

Because I really wanted to use this, I got new hosting. I purchased the Amazon, Yahoo Answers, and Article Autoposters.

I love them!! Will you be working on new versions. Now that I have been working with them, I have ideas for features I would like to see in new releases.

  7. admin says:

    Hi, glad you like them!

A big update for all the plugins is already in the making and will be released in the next few days! Still, feel free to send me any ideas or suggestions you might have!

Thanks!! If you are doing a big update you may have thought of these already…

One of the feature I was able to add myself, but would be good in the new update… unique email addresses for comments in the Amazon and Yahoo plugin. It was an easy change, and allows using the gravatar avatars.

Within the Yahoo and Article plugins, pull the name of the original author to be used as the author on the WP post. I have no idea how to do that, but you may want to look at the “FeedWordPress” plugin, which is able to do it. It would be good not to have everything posted by admin.

In the Yahoo plugin, it would be nice if comment times were spaced out like in the Amazon plugin.

In the Article plugin, being able to select the specific category would be helpful. Also, adding other article sources would be great.

Finally, a tag filter… words like “what”, “that”, “does”, and other useless words get sucked into tags. Every could days I try to clean out the ones that get used a lot. It would be great not to have to worry about it.

I think that is about it. :-)

  9. admin says:

Thanks for the suggestions Tim! I’m just not sure I understand the first one… you mean adding a different (random) email for each comment added? How would that help to use Gravatar avatars or rather which avatars would the posts use then?

“In the Article plugin, being able to select the specific category would be helpful. Also, adding other article sources would be great.”

You’re talking about categories from articlesbase.com here? If so that is unfortunatelly not possible because the site does not have an advanced search which would include these (just another reason to look for more sources…).

    Cheers

…not sure if my last post was filtered.

  11. Tim says:

    I’ll try again…

Not a different random email for each comment added, but a unique email address for each unique name. The code may have been why my last post was filtered. Email me and I can send you what I did. The unique email address uses the same generated avatar for each post, which mostly is beneficial with the Yahoo plugin, but can work with the Amazon one.

With the article poster, I thought maybe their “RSS Builder” would be able to do that, since it does create a feed by category.

  12. admin says:

Thanks for the clarification! And I’ll have a look at the “RSS Builder” , did not notice that before.
